Situation #3:

Home in new subdivision in need of some privacy.

New home in
need of privacy

Solution:

In the front yard, we created an area with stonework, a dry creek bed and a variety of shrubs and trees that when full grown would help to keep the deck/porch area and the front of the house a little more private. The view across the street was a park that would eventually have people in it pursuing various recreational activities.

In the back yard we created a low burm with trees and shrubs to shield the back deck and yard from the view of the neighbors behind them.

Back yard burm
in progress

This is a view of the back yard, shortly after we began work on it in 1995. You can see that there would be little privacy here. The back yard borders another row of back yards. The deck had nothing to shield it from view.

Finished backyard
burm.
